Riches is a British drama television series where Stephen Richards, a self-made man, has built a cosmetics empire and become a strong advocate for Black-owned businesses.
My responsabilities for this Creative Campaign included working as a Digital Creative and Graphic Designer.
I designed an Ankara inspired pattern as part of the Creative Marketing Campaign for the series, that was used for different purposes and media: Video animations, Gift boxes, Props for videos, Decoration, etc.
I also supported the campaign by doing the video editing of social media assets.

PATTERN DESIGN
I based the design on a traditional Ankara pattern, in order to celebrate and respect African Tradition, and included elements from the Beauty and Hair Industry, displayed in the series' brand and identity.
The Ankara is a pattern that unites Africa. It represents African traditions, fashion, and so much more.
I made sure to check the cultural elements were respected and assured this was a version of the design that would celebrate the culture, as well as showcase clearly the theme of the Beauty Industry.

I used a wavy pattern to mimic brush strokes, introducing beauty and haircare products in the compositions as part of the geometric pattern (lipstick, hairdryer, makeup brushes, etc) using different variations of the design to keep the pattern interesting.

PATTERN DESIGN ON INFLUENCER GIFT PACKAGES
Part of the Campaign to create awareness for the show, was to send out beauty gift boxes with the printed design to Influencers and Content Creators. Below you can find pictures of the pattern printed in boxes, in canvas and used in the filming of bespoke content some of the actors from the cast.
